Finding Your Identity

**Main Idea:**

We live in a world that’s confused about identity. People are searching for meaning, value, and direction. But our true identity is found only in Christ — He defines who we are, not the world.

**Key Scripture:**

Mark 5:1–20 – Jesus restores the man who was possessed by many demons.
He was isolated, broken, and defined by darkness — until he met Jesus.
When Jesus restores your identity, He also restores your purpose.

Four Spiritual Truths About Your Identity

**1.You Are Not Helpless – You Have Power in Christ**

Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Luke 10:19 – “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.”

2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

You don’t have to live beneath your circumstances. Through Christ, you have authority over fear and temptation. The Spirit gives you strength to stand firm and live boldly.**

**2.You Are Valuable – Created with Purpose and Loved by God**

Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”

Genesis 1:27 – “So God created man in His own image.”

Romans 5:8 – “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

You are not your past, your failures, or others’ opinions. You are God’s masterpiece — loved, chosen, and made in His image.**

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord… to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 57:2 – “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.”

2 Timothy 1:9 – “He saved us and called us to a holy calling… according to His own purpose and grace.”

You were not just saved from something — you were saved for something. God shaped your personality, passions, and pain for His mission.**

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good.”

Isaiah 61:3 – “To give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes… that they may be called oaks of righteousness.”

Hebrews 6:19 – “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.”
