History of Living Water Community Church

Pastor Tom Farling (Pastor of LWCC 1986-2024)

Founding Father of Living Water since its beginning in 1986. He and his wife Lana moved from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to answer the call of God and began to pastor.

Thomas Farling, from Fort Wayne, Indiana was asked to go fill in as a guest speaker at The Rock Church on January 11, 1986 because they thought they had picked out a pastor from C.M.I. and Tom was to cover the pulpit because the other pastor was on vacation. However, after covering for the other pastor for a couple weeks they asked Tom Farling to become pastor. So on March 9, 1986 Tom Farling officially became the pastor. The name of the church was changed to Living Water Worship Center, Inc. on July 23, 1986. There were only 18 to 25 people in the church at that time and no one from the previous pastor was left to do worship. Therefore, Tom, Lana, their ten-year-old daughter Jena, and Lana's dad, Robert Van Meter, led worship. After acouple of years, we knew the building was ot be sold; there was no room for growth and very little room
for Sunday School Classes. We went into a rental situation at the Sheridan Hotel on Sunday's and the YWCA on Wednesday nights. Al sound equipment had to be carried in and out each
Sunday. Then another pastor friend, of Pastor Tom, decided to close down their ministry, which was in an old school building on Lindberg Road. He called and asked if we were interested in taking over their building. After much prayer it was decided to move into that facility; that was in November, 1990. We were there until late 1999 when that building was auctioned off and an architect was contacted to begin the planning for a new building on ten acres of land that we had purchased. Location was 5300S. State Road 67, Anderson, IN 46013.
Until the building was completed we once again, went into a temporary situation at Pendleton Middle School, with rental offices on Pendleton Avenue.
The work began on the new building in December of 1999 and was completed in June, 2000.
Our Open House, with guest speaker Dr. Paul E. Paino, and several other pastors, was held on August 6, 2000.
